Waskom Library Summer Reading Program

Waskom’s Library kept its tradition going in the Summer Reading Program, with a full house of children, with parents and grandparents coming from the Ark-La-Tex region to enjoy the summer program complete with a visiting guest, Bugsy, named after the Mafia bad guy, Bugsy Siegel.

Our Bugsy was far from being a bad guy, this human-friendly comfort animal is highly trained and regarded as a dedicated canine, truly a man’s best friend and a faithful companion to his trainer, Gina Smith.

The Waskom staff were ready and waiting for the standing-room only crowd that packed the library facility celebrating its 20th year in operation with a new face-lift, interior and exterior, recently completed.

Listed below are the forthcoming program topics and presenters scheduled for this summer.

June 28—Zombies with Angie Cason and Jasper Price

July 5—Artifacts with Janet Cook of Historical Society

July 12—Healthy Eating with Louraiseal McDonald

July 19—Butterflies with Brenda Kinney

July 26—Dat Does the Trick with David Trombetta
