The Waskom ISD Friday school day was dedicated to a play day, with parents and teachers joining the students – from elementary to high school – in a day dedicated to having a good time. A busy series of games, competitions, air castles, food and games dominated the agenda for the day and no one was late for class, or the turn out.
Caught in the mix were second-grade students from McCloud, Texas who joined Waskom students in the City Park playground created by Mayor Jesse Moore, where all joined together for a romping run on swings, monkey bars and more.
The Wildcat Nation’s stadium and football field of champions was covered in challenges and competitions, from a tug-of-war, flag football, tricycle races, to running and balancing games, where all the students were eager and willing to show off their athletic skills and dedication to having a good time.
The middle school and elementary school had numerous bouncing air castle configurations, sliding, climbing, jumping and bouncing with teachers, parents and students running and hopping the day away.
This was one special occasion when no one dreaded going to school, while the Waskom Independent School District excels in academics, it is truly a safe and happy place everyday.
