Rolando Demond Johnson, age 29, was booked by Waskom Police Department and Harrison County Sheriff Deputies. Waskom PD initially located Johnson and attempted to question him about a series of thefts in the Waskom area, but before officers could question Johnson, he fled to a house on Hearne Street in the Waskom city limits. Once inside, Johnson refused to give himself up. He later attempted to escape through the back door of the residence. A brief foot chase ensued, concluding with Johnson being apprehended by the police.
Johnson, known in the streets as “Book,” is not a newcomer to trouble. On August 25, 2005, he was convicted for burglary and unauthorized use of motor vehicle and served time in prison. On May 9, 2015 Johnson was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. On May 12, 2017 “Book” was booked for criminal trespass and released on a $3,000.00 bond.
According to the law enforcement, an investigation is ongoing and will determine more charges to be potentially lodged against Johnson.
