National Prayer is a day set aside from the word of the world to pray. This day of honor was created in 1952 by a joint resolution and signed into law by President Harry Truman. The law was amended in 1988, by both the House and Senate, signed by President Ronald Reagan.
This national day is actually an international day, every day should be a prayer day for you and I.
The theme for this 2019 day of honor, pray and praise is the heartbeat of Christ’s Gospel, His “God News” of His “Good News.”
“Love one another. Just as I have loved you.”
This set aside scripture was our new commandment.
The Bible tells us,
“Pray without ceasing!”
1 Thessalonians 5:17
We should do this in our relationship and fellowship daily, in all things, at all times. We would certainly operate in God’s love with one another. This nation, this world God’s creation would be a better place. To change the world, it begins in the heart and home, love will flow from there to change the street we live on, the county and state we live in live and our country will be that bastion of love and honoring God.
To keep a nation on its feet, we need to get down on our knees to pray faithfully, without ceasing. This will keep America great today!
Waskom High School will commence this day of prayer at 9:00 am, in the school gymnasium, with the Waskom Pastor’s Alliance of Churches and the community are invited.
