Local Elections: Reid McCain, Jr.

Former Marshall Police Officer Reid McCain, Jr. is seeking the top prosecutor job in Harrison County on election day, March 6, 2018.

Since leaving the Marshall PD as a Lieutenant, McCain is currently serving as Assistant District Attorney for Gregg County.

Reid is a graduate in Bachelor of Science from LSU-Shreveport, with his Juris Doctorate Degree from Oklahoma City University. Reid states, “I am a longtime East Texan and a fair, principled Christian, family man, leader and dedicated lifelong public servant who believes in the rule of law and that justice should be dispensed as evenly and firmly as possible while being a good steward of taxpayer dollars.”

Reid and his wife Melissa McCain reside in Harleton, they are the parents of two daughters and one son, where they attend St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Melissa is employed at the Longview Cardiac and Vascular Consultants Diagnostic Clinic.

McCain said. “As a dedicated, lifelong public servant, I have seen the impact that repeat offenders have on our community and I know the dangers that they pose to victims. I will work tirelessly with local law enforcement and provide them the tools necessary to pursue criminals in our county.”

He is endorsed by the Marshall Police Officers’ Association (MPOA).
