First United Methodist Church of Waskom is inviting community members to come together for a prayer vigil remembering the 17 victims who were killed in a school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Pastor Sherry Q. Crenshaw, other religious leaders and the community at large will offer prayers in remembrance of the victims, ask for God’s blessings, comfort and healing for the survivors, their families, protection for the first responders and the nation.
Pastor Sherry Q. Crenshaw has asked for community leaders, administrators, teachers, students, our first responders, and citizens from all walks of life and denominations to unite, in calling all churches to join the United Methodist Church on this day, at this time, for hearts to be healed and voices to be heard, for a prayer vigil in the wake of the recent shooting that has fragmented families across the USA, in a demonstration of faith and healing.
When the fabric of American society is attacked and tattered, the hope and healing is a resource – through prayer that sees us through dark valleys, to show that goodness prevails over evil.
Everyone is welcome to attend the prayer vigil on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM, at the First United Methodist Church of Waskom, located at 1305 W Texas Ave, Waskom, TX 75692.
