First Baptist Church Thanksgiving and National Bible Week

The week of November 19, 2017, last Sunday night started with school being out for the coming week, with the Thanksgiving Holidays, and National Bible Week began. Celebrating the Word of God and a banquet set the stage with the congregation working installing a new lighting system for the upcoming church programs over the Christmas holidays.

Production and prayer filled the daily agenda and a theme of gratitude.

Senior Pastor Ivy & Aimee Shelton, with the staff and congregation, prepared a time of fellowship and feast for the community. All were welcome from across the Ark-LA-Tex with a warm invitation to celebrate.

Dr. Ivy took time to give thanks for the blessings at the Waskom First Baptist Church, and focused others to pray and support churches and ministries from around the world and the United States. Pastor Shelton announced, “With the recent events in Sutherland Springs, Texas, The North American Mission Board on the behalf of the Southern Baptist Convention has confirmed it has offered to cover funeral expenses for all shooting victims in coordination with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.”
